About

Mrs. McDowell graduated from Colorado Christian University, Summa Cum Laude in 1994, the same year her twin girls were born.  She worked as a substitute teacher until her girls, Heather and Rachel, went to school.   Mrs. McDowell has worked as a Reading Specialist, taught a 5/6  multi-grade, Kindergarten, and 1st grade.   She also home-schooled one of her daughters 7th-11th grade while working on her Master's of Information Literacy and Technology  at University of Colorado Denver (UCD) to become a Digital Teacher Librarian. 

Fun Facts About Mrs. McDowell
1. She was a sergeant in the Air Force and worked on computers.
2. She leads music for her congregation and has three CDs. (Google it!)
3. She grew up in Easton, PA where Crayola crayons and markers are made.
4. She has traveled to  or through 24 of the United States.  She has also traveled to Israel, India, Poland, and Ukraine.


Hobbies & Interests
1. Family.   She has been married to her husband Terry since 1987.   He fixes heaters and air conditioners and pretty much anything else.   He is her knight in shining armor.  They enjoy Friday night family dinners and traveling with their girls.
2. Music. She plays guitar, piano, and is learning the ukulele and the darbuka (hand drum). 
3. Gardening.   Yes, she plays in the dirt!  The best tasting food is the food you grow and pick fresh in your own backyard.
